/ Response Verification
An online traffic school requires that
student identity be verified. This is needed so courts, counties,
and state administrators can be confident that the student sitting
at the computer terminal is the person who is supposed to be using
the online training course.
AAA and ISI, partners in Traffic Survival
Online, use a patented a technology that uses a
person's "voiceprint" for verification of identity.
To start, the student goes to a designated
"voice enrollment center" near his or her home (such
as a Mail Boxes Etc. store), where a trained supervisor leads
the student through several simple steps. The student presents
ID which proves his or her identity to the supervisor. The student
then "enrolls" his or her voice in our system by answering
a series of questions. The result is a unique voiceprint which
will be used during the course. The voiceprint is as unique to
each person as a fingerprint is.
Once the student's voice has been enrolled
he or she returns to the computer and begins taking Traffic Survival
Online. From time to time, when the student is using the course,
a screen will pop up and ask the student to call a toll-free number
within 90 seconds to verify his or her identity. If the caller's
voice matches the student's previously enrolled voiceprint, the
system allows him or her to continue where he or she left off
before the call.
