Testing Three-Slot Outlets
Step 1: Check that the voltage tester works (as in the
two-slot outlet directions). Turn off the power. Place one
probe in one receptacle opening; place the other first on
the green screw, then in the other receptacle opening, one
at a time. Repeat this for each receptacle opening. The
tester should not light in any combination.
