Instructional Systems' Building Maintenance Program provides the basic skills instruction necessary for an entry-level position as a Building Maintenance Worker. Students work at their own pace while mastering key vocational competencies. Course materials have been specifically developed for the adult and young adult learner, with real-world examples presented to enhance the learning process.

Content

The Building Maintenance Curriculum contains over 150 lessons divided into five major work areas:

• Electrical Repair: includes switches, lights, circuits, and outlets.
• Plumbing Repair: includes pipes, fittings, faucets, showers and tubs.
• Painting: includes surface preparation, selection, and application.
• Plastering: includes preparation, mixing, and application.
• Carpentry: includes doors, windows, framing, partitions, paneling, and flooring.
