Instructional Systems' Applied Math for Careers Program is a multimedia course designed to help improve the mathematical skills of students at the secondary and post-secondary level. The Applied Communication Skills Program improves basic reading skills for adults and young adults functioning between the third- and ninth-grade reading levels. In both programs, students progress at their own pace while mastering basic vocational skills.

Content

The Applied Math for Careers Curriculum contains over 500 lessons divided into nine basic skill areas:

• Algebra
• Decimals
• Equations
• Formulas
• Fractions
• Graphs
• Ratios
• Proportions
• Signed Numbers
• Whole Numbers

Applications relate to four occupational areas: Building Trades , Office Occupations, Health Occupations, and Automotive Trades.

The Applied Communication Skills Curriculum contains over 200 lessons divided into five basic skills areas:

• Inferential Comprehension
• Interpreting Information Displayed Graphically
• Technical Document Reading
• Vocabulary
• Literal Comprehension
