• Nearly 6 million young people aged 16 to 24 are out of school or out of work
• Millions of welfare recipients have not yet secured the job skills that will make them self sufficient
• U.S. employers continue to grapple with the nation's skills gap, as evidenced by the importation of 195,000 foreign workers per year to fill the existing high-skill job openings.
